1. Our Services
A17News is a curated, read-only feed of AI news bulletins covering topics including artificial intelligence, technology, research, startups, and related fields. Each bulletin consists of a headline, a brief summary, and a direct link to the original source. The Services are provided free of charge to all readers.
Our editorial process is as follows: we monitor a broad range of publicly available news sources; an AI model generates an independent summary of the reported facts in new language; a human editor reviews, fact-checks where practicable, and approves the output before publication. We aim to cover the most relevant developments accurately and promptly.
We do not claim authorship of the underlying news events or the source articles. The Services are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional, financial, legal, or investment advice. Always verify important information with the original source before acting on it.
2. Intellectual property
The A17News name, logo, site design, and bulletin content published on A17News are owned by or licensed to A17News and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws to the extent permitted by law. All rights are reserved.
Linked articles, press releases, and other third-party content remain the property of their respective publishers. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right or licence in that third-party content.
You may share links to individual bulletins and quote brief excerpts (a sentence or two) with clear attribution to A17News and a link back to the original bulletin URL. Any other reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of our original content requires prior written consent.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from the Services for redistribution without our prior written consent.
- Use automated tools to send abusive, excessive, or denial-of-service requests to the Services.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services or the servers and networks connected to them.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Services.
Our RSS and JSON Feed endpoints are provided for personal and non-commercial aggregation use. High-volume or commercial use requires prior written agreement.
4. User contributions
A17News is a read-only news feed. We do not currently offer public commenting, forums, or any facility for visitors to submit or publish content. If you contact us by email (for example, to submit a tip or correction), you grant us permission to use the information you send to improve our coverage. We will not publish your name or contact details without your explicit consent.
5. Third-party websites and content
Every bulletin links to an external source. These third-party websites are not under our control. We do not endorse and are not responsible for:
- The accuracy, completeness, or availability of linked content.
- The privacy practices of third-party sites.
- Any products or services offered by third parties.
When you click through to a third-party site, their own terms of service and privacy policy apply. We encourage you to review them.
6. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no representations or warranties that:
- The Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- Bulletins are free of inaccuracies or typographical errors. Our summaries are produced with the assistance of AI and, while subject to human editorial review, may contain errors, omissions, or misrepresentations of the source material. AI-generated content can reflect biases, produce hallucinations, or misinterpret nuanced information. Always consult the original source before acting on any bulletin.
- Linked sources will remain available, accurate, or unchanged.
- The information on the Services is complete, reliable, or up to date.
- Our coverage is comprehensive. We select and summarise a subset of available news and cannot guarantee that all relevant developments are included.
We strive for accuracy and will investigate and correct errors brought to our attention promptly. If you believe any bulletin contains content that is factually inaccurate, defamatory, or otherwise harmful to your reputation or that of your organisation, contact us immediately at [email protected] with the specific URL and a description of the alleged inaccuracy. We will review and respond within a reasonable time and will remove or correct content where we determine it to be materially inaccurate.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, A17News and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
- Service interruption or unavailability.
- Any damages arising from your reliance on content published on the Services, including bulletin summaries that contain errors, omissions, or AI-generated inaccuracies.
- Any claims arising from alleged inaccuracies, misrepresentations, or defamatory statements in bulletin content, where we acted in good faith and upon information from third-party sources.
- Any damages arising from your access to, use of, or inability to use third-party websites linked from our bulletins.
- Any damages of any kind, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, will be zero). This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless A17News and its operators from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Services in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
9. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time without notice or liability.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve any concern you raise within a reasonable time of receiving it in writing.
We have not designated a specific governing jurisdiction at this time. Nothing in these Terms limits your ability to seek relief in the courts of your own country of residence under its mandatory consumer protection laws.
