Most web applications currently lack a structured method for AI agents to register. To address this, WorkOS has released auth.md, an open agent registration protocol built on OAuth standards. This protocol allows applications to publish a Markdown file at their domain detailing supported registration flows, necessary scopes, and methods for obtaining credentials tied to a real user, all without requiring a human to fill out a form.
