EU AI Act GPAI codes of practice deadline passes
Major AI providers must now comply with transparency and copyright rules for general-purpose AI models under the Act's first enforcement milestone.
The EU AI Office confirmed that general-purpose AI model providers have passed the first compliance deadline under the EU AI Act. Companies must now publish model summaries, disclose training data copyright policies, and implement basic incident-reporting procedures. Non-compliance carries fines of up to 3% of global annual turnover. OpenAI, Google, and Mistral have each filed preliminary compliance documentation.
